Abstract:
The aging of the population worldwide results in increasing
numbers of elderly patients, among whom heart disease
is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality. Cardiac
changes are associated with the senescence of the cardiovascular system that occurs in the body during aging. These
changes progresses over time and are associated with risk
factors, which are the cause of cardiac pathology, leading to
high disability, functional decline and high economic costs.
The main purpose of the modern treatments used in cardiac
pathologies is reducing symptomatology, clinical stability
and improving the quality of life of elderly people.
