Study and analysis of ophthalmic pharmaceutical formulations used in medical practice

Abstract

Background. According to WHO data, eye diseases are increasingly common in both adults and children, and the lack of adequate treatment can lead to serious complications. Objective of the study. The research objective was to study the industrial and magistral ophthalmic formulations used in medical practice, with the reproduction of the most common pharmaceutical formulation prepared within UPC ,,V.P"and to conduct their control. Material and Methods. There was analyzed the magistral drug preparation of “Vasile Procopisin” UPC’s production department used in the treatment of eye diseases from a technological and biopharmaceutical point of view. Results. Data from specialized literature show that the most commonly used pharmaceutical formulations in ophthalmic practice are eye drops. There were analyzed all magistral formulations in the production department and there was identified the most often prescribed one. The repeatability of the prescriptions used in eye diseases took place during September-December 2019. There was developed the method of quantitative analysis of compound eye drops prepared in the production department.The method is simple, fast and useful in use. Conclusion. Ophthalmic formulations allow the localization of the effect of medicinal substances in the eyes, thus avoiding unwanted systemic effects, and local therapy of the ocular area has the advantage of a rapid and direct action, with low concentrations of drugs.

Introducere. Conform datelor OMS, afecțiunile oftalmice sunt tot mai frecvent întâlnite în lume atât în rândul maturilor, cât și al copiilor, iar lipsa unui tratament adecvat, poate duce la complicații grave. Scopul lucrării. Cercetarea a fost axată studierea formelor oftalmice industriale și magistrale folosite în practica medicală, cu reproducerea celei mai frecvente forme farmaceutice preparate în cadrul CFU ,,V. P” și controlul acestora. Material și Metode. A fost analizată receptura magistrală a secției de producere a CFU ,,Vasile Procopișin” folosită în tratamentul maladiilor oculare, sub aspect tehnologic și biofarmaceutic. Rezultate. Datele din literatura de specialitate demonstrează că picăturile oftalmice sunt formele farmaceutice mai des utilizate în practica oftalmică. S-au analizat toate formele magistrale din secția de producere cu evidențierea celei mai des prescrise. S-a desfășurat repetabilitatea rețetelor folosite în afecțiunile oftalmice pe perioada septembrie - decembrie 2019. S-a elaborat metoda de analiză cantitativă a picăturilor oftalmice compuse, preparate în secția de producere. Metoda este simplă, rapidă și utilă în întrebuințare. Concluzii. Formele oftalmice permit localizarea efectului substanţelor medicamentoase în ochi, evitându-se astfel efectele sistemice nedorite, iar terapia locală a zonei oculare are avantajul unei acţiuni rapide şi directe, cu concentraţii mici de medicamente.
