Asocierea dintre diabetul zaharat şi bolile tiroidiene

Abstract

Thyroid diseases are frequent in patients with diabetes mellitus. The aim of our study was to determine the incidence of thyroid diseases in different groups of patients with diabetes mellitus. The study was performed in the Endocrinology Department of the Republican Clinical Hospital, according to the observation sheets of 180 patients at a mean age of 51.1+/–0.7 years with diabetes mellitus and thyroid diseases. It is concluded that thyroid diseases are frequent in patients with diabetes mellitus, being more common in female patients from rural places. There is a higher prevalence of diabetes mellitus type 2 with low levels of thyroid hormones.

Bolile tiroidiene sunt frecvente la pacienţii cu diabet zaharat. Scopul studiului a fost determinarea frecvenţei şi structurii bolilor tiroidiene la diferite grupe de pacienţi cu diabet zaharat. Studiul a fost realizat pe parcursul anului 2010, în Secţia de Endocrinologie a Spitalului Clinic Republican în baza fişelor de observaţie a 180 de pacienţi cu diabet zaharat şi patologia glandei tiroide, cu vîrsta medie de 51.1+/– 0.7 ani. S-a stabilit că bolile tiroidiene sunt frecvente la pacienţii cu diabet zaharat, în special la femeile din spaţiul rural. S-a constatat o prevalenţă înaltă a diabetului zaharat tip 2 asociat cu hipotiroidismul.
