Abstract

Thyreotoxic sydrome is associated with low bone mineral density and increased risk of osteoporosis and it is more common in women then in men. The goal of the study was to investigate the effect of thyrotoxicosis on bone density. Osteoporosis severity correlates with the degree and duration of the disease and patient age.

Sindromul tireotoxic se asociază cu densitate minerală osoasă scăzută şi risc înalt de osteoporoză, fiind mai pronunţată la femei versus bărbaţi. Studiului a avut drept scop investigarea efectului tireotoxicozei asupra densităţii minerale osoase. Severitatea osteoporozei se corelează cu gradul şi durata bolii cît şi cu vîrsta pacienţilor.
