dc.description.abstract Although massive transfusion is a lifesaving treatment for patients with massive bleeding it itself is responsible for one of the most serious challenges of the patient with acute hemorrhage – coagulopathy. Mechanism of coagulopathy is complex and lethal triad is the starting point that includes acidosis, hypothermia and coagulopathy. In addition to these three factors massive transfusion is responsible for dilution of coagulation factors, dilutional thrombocytopenia and hypocalcaemia.
