Abstract:
Summary
То reduce morbidity of conventional TURP without compromised tissue ablation rate new
technique for the BPH surgical treatment - transurethral rotoresection has been introduced. Our aim
was to assess efficacy of this method, which combines tissue electrovaporization and coagulation
by HF current with simultaneous tissue mechanical removal by a rotating electrode. We have
conducted a comparative study of rotoresection vs TURP with 40 patients in iche arm and follow-up
of 1 year. Our results demonstrate that transurethral rotoresection provides optimal tissue ablation
with minimal bleeding and appears to be a reasonable alternative to conventional TURP.
