Osteoporoza la pacienții cu paradontoză

Abstract

Introducere. Întrucât osteoporoza și paradontoza au la bază destrucția osoasă, a fost emisă ipoteza că osteoporoza ar putea fi un trigger pentru evoluția paradontozei. Scopul lucrării. Acest review literar a fost efectuat pentru a identifica relația dintre aceste 2 patologii. Materiale și Metode. Pentru a elucida interdependența, au fost analizate o serie de articole care studiau paradontoza și osteoporoza, paradontoza și osteopenia, paradontoza și reducerea densității osoase, paradontoza și fracturile osoase. Pe baza criteriilor de includere au fost selectate articolele care au demonstrat o legătură directă dintre osteoporoză și paradontoză. Rezultate. Astfel, un studiu asupra unui grup de femei cu osteoporoză a demonstrat prezența unei mase și densități mandibulare reduse. Un alt studiu asupra femeilor aflate în menopauză cu deficit de estrogen a demonstrat mai multă pierdere osoasă alveolară și mai mulți dinți lipsă. Totodată, un alt studiu asupra unui grup de femei cu fracturi osteoporotice nu a demonstrat un conținut redus de minerale în maxilar. Concluzii. Efectul osteoporozei la femeile aflate în postmenopauză este evident întrucât deficitul de estrogen condiționează modificările osoase. Totodată, dereglările hormonale induc riscul dezvoltării bolii parodontale. Cu toate acestea, osteoporoza nu poate fi triggerul paradontozei, însă poate fi un factor predispozant în evoluția acesteia.

Introduction. Because osteoporosis and periodontitis are based on bone destruction, it has been hypothesized that osteoporosis may be a trigger for the development of periodontitis. The purpose of the paper. This literary review was performed to identify the relationship between these two pathologies. Materials and methods. To elucidate the interdependence, a series of articles studying periodontitis and osteoporosis, periodontitis and osteopenia, periodontitis and reduction of bone density, periodontitis, and bone fractures were analyzed. Based on the inclusion criteria, articles were selected that demonstrated a direct link between osteoporosis and periodontitis. Results. Thus, a study of a group of women with osteoporosis showed the presence of low mandibular mass and density. Another study of estrogen-deficient menopausal women showed more alveolar bone loss and more missing teeth. At the same time, another study of a group of women with osteoporotic fractures did not show a low mineral content in the jaw. Conclusions. The effect of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women is obvious because estrogen deficiency conditions bone changes. At the same time, hormonal disorders lead to the risk of developing periodontal disease. However, osteoporosis may not be the trigger for periodontitis, but it may be a predisposing factor in its evolution.
