Riscul probabil de afectare a sănătății la persoane implicate în gestionarea pesticidelor

Abstract

Introducere. Starea de sănătate a populației în relație cu aplicarea pesticidelor în agricultură este o problema de maximă actualitate. În fiecare an, în Europa sunt utilizate peste 200.000 tone de pesticide. Expunerea la pesticide poate afecta negativ sănătatea, producând varia disfuncții ale organismului uman. Scopul studiului a fost estimarea igienică a condițiilor și modalității gestionării și utilizării pesticidelor cu posibil impact asupra stării de sănătate, a examenului medical și riscului probabil de afectare a sănătății persoanelor implicate în aceste procese. Material și metode . S-a evaluat nivelul de utilizare al pesticidelor, a desfășurării e xamenelor medicale a persoanelor implicate , analizând fișele medicale și rapoartele statistice. Riscul de îmbolnăvire s-a estimat după factorul de risc prezent/absent, care exprimă efectul biologic al expunerii, utilizând tabelul de contingență de tipul “2x2”. Rezultate . Anual în țară sunt utilizate în jur de 2100,0 tone pesticide. Grupul de populație ce se confruntă cu probleme de sănătate în relație cu condițiile de muncă sunt persoanele ce au contact profesional cu pesticidele. În procesul de evaluare a impactului factorilor de mediu ocupațional asupra sănătății lucrătorilor din domeniul de gestionare și utilizare a pesticidelor, a fost estimat riscul. Ca urmare, a fost dovedit statis tic existența asocierii între factorul de risc și boală. Astfel, probabilitatea de îmbolnăvire prin bolile aparatului digestiv la respondenții ce activează cu pesticide este de 16,7 ori mai mare comparativ cu respondenții ce nu activează cu pesticide (RP=16,66, IÎ95: 9,9402 – 27,9121, p<0.0001, FA=94,0%). Concluzii. Datele obținute ne confirmă faptul existenței unui risc posibil pentru lucrătorii obiectivelor de gestionare a pesticidelor. Așa dar, se atestă necesitatea real izării și implementării unor abordări noi privind securitatea angajaților, determinarea riscurilor pentru sănătate.

Introduction. The health status of the population in relation to the application of pesticides in agriculture is a very topical issue. Every year, over 200000 tons of pesticides are used in Europe. Exposure to pesticides can negatively affect health, producing various dysfunctions of the human body. The aim of the study was the hygienic estimation of the con ditions and the method of managing and using pesticides with possible impact on the state of health, the medical examination and the probable risk of affecting the health of the people involved in these processes. Material and methods. The level of use of pesticides and the conduct of medical ex aminations of the people involved was evaluated, analyzing medical records and statistical reports. The risk of illness was estimated according to the present/absent risk factor, which expresses the biological effect of exposure, using the “2x2” contingency table. Results. Around 2100.0 tons of pesticides are used annually in the country. The population group facing health problems related to working conditions are the people who have professional contact with pesticides. In the process of assessing the impact of occupational environmental factors on the health of workers in the field of pesticide management and use, the risk was estimated. As a result, the association between the risk factor and the disease was statistically proven. Thus, the probability of getting sick with diseases of the digestive system in respon dents who use pesticides is 16.7 times higher compared to respondents who do not use pesticides (RP=16.66, IÎ95: 9.9402 – 27.9121, p< 0.0001, FA=94.0%). Conclusions. The data obtained confirm to us the existence of a possible risk for the workers of the pesticide management objectives. Therefore, the need to realize and implement new approaches regarding employee security and determining health risks is attested.
