Abstract:
In this article have been discussed the antihypertensive efficacy of lercanidipine, a new
dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker of the third generation, compared with other CCBs and
other antihypertensive agents. Its main advantage over first- and second-generation CCBs is less
incidence of adverse effects, such as reflex tachycardia and peripheral edema. The improved
tolerability profile of lercanidipine might help to partly overcome the problem of the poor
adherence to antihypertensive therapy. Recent data suggest that lercanidipine have some
pleiotropic renoprotective, antioxidant, antihypertrophic properties, could improve insulin
resistance in diabetic patients and in patients with metabolic syndrome.
În acest articol a fost pusă în discuţie eficacitatea antihipertensivă a lercanidipinei, unui
nou blocant al canalelor de calciu dihidropiridinic de a treia generaţie, în comparaţie cu alţi BCC
şi alte remedii antihipertensive. Avantajul său principal versus BCC de prima şi a doua generaţie
este incidenţa mai mică de efecte adverse, cum ar fi tahicardia reflexă şi edemul periferic.
Profilul său de tolerabilitate ameliorat ar putea ajuta parţial la depăşirea problemei de aderenţă
scazută la tratament antihipertensiv. Datele recente sugerează că lercanidipina posedă anumite
proprietăţi pleiotrope nefroprotective, antioxidante, antihipertrofice, ar putea îmbunătăţi
rezistenţa la insulină la pacienţii diabetici şi la pacienţii cu sindrom metabolic.
