Abstract:
Differential diagnosis of non-epileptic paroxysmal events with epilepsy is a major
problem in Neuropediatrics. Currently,epileptological statistics of different centers in the world
reports that from 10% to 40% of patients with the diagnosis of farmacorezistent epilepsy suffers
really from non-epileptical paroxysmal disorders and the diagnosis,, epilepsy''is set incorrectly.
This phenomenon is explained by the fact that the most frequently about the charactere of the
phenomena the doctor finds out from the witness or the pacient testimonials wich are often
inaccurate and incomplete and are aggravated by the presence in the family history of the
epilepsy or by a febrile seizure in the past. Therefore are created serious diagnostical errors and
there is initiated an unnecessary antiepileptic treatment.
Diagnosticul diferenţial al fenomenelor paroxistice non-epileptice cu epilepsia reprezintă
o problemă majoră în neuropediatrie. Actualmente, statisticile diferitor centre epileptologice din
lume raportează, că de la 10% la 40% pacienţii cu diagnosticul de epilepsie farmacorezistentă,
suferă cu adevărat de tulburări paroxistice neepileptice, iar diagnosticul de ,,epilepsie’’ este
stabilit incorect. Acest fenomen se explică prin faptul, că cel mai frecvent, despre caracterul
fenomenelor ictale, medicul află din relatările martorilor şi a pacientului, acestea fiind adesea
imprecise şi incomplete şi este agravat fie de prezenţa în istoricul familial a epilepsiei, fie de
existenţa unui trecut de convulsii febrile. Prin urmare se creează erori grave de diagnostic şi se
iniţiază un tratament antiepileptic nejustificat.
