In the clinic of urology of the Oncological Institute from Moldova, ecoguided percutaneous nephrostomy was performed in 125 patients with advanced tumors of pelvic cavity organs, that caused obstruction of the ureters with manifestations of renal failure. After liquidation of the renal failure, with reduction or normalization of uremic indices, in 70 cases we managed to perform specific surgical treatment or combined chemo – radiotherapy. In 69 cases the results of treatment were satisfactory, with a mean survival average of 13.3 months, 31 patients survived from 2 to 4 years, and in 7 cases there were a 5-year survival. So, retrospectively speaking, it can be stated that these patients have undergone radical treatment. There were no deaths recorded.
In case of 55 patients who were symptomatically treated, a increase of quality of life was confirmed by a special survey conducted by doctoral candidate Boris Duda.
