Abstract:
Corneal ulceration is a vision-threatening disease that varies in incidence worldwide(1) and occupy about 20 % of all ocular pathology.(2,3)
In the Ophthalmology Department of the Hospital ‘’Holly Trinity’’ was achieved 7 corneal transplants in the period of march-june 2013. The main goal of the surgery was to maintain the integrity of ocular globe. All pacients were suffering of corneal ulceration caused by bacterial or viral infection, dry eye syndrome and eyelid pathology. Corneal transplant has improved corneal structure, reduction of subjective symptoms and provided a better life.
Transplantul cornean a restabilit structura tectonică a corneei, a diminuat semnele subiective si a înbunătaţit calitatea vieţii pacienţilor.
