The influence of interferon therapy on the indices of immune response in patients with parainfluenza

Abstract

We have studied the results of complex therapy with the usage of laferobion (by 1 million of units during 3 days) in 30 male patients with parainfluenza aged from 19 to 24 whose clinical diagnosis has been confirmed by immunological method in paired seras. We have used interferon-α (ИФН-α) – laferobion that has been taken by means of inhalation compressor nebulizer Boreal made by the Italian company Flaеm Nuova. The preparation has been used by 1 million of IU dose procedure during 3 days. The inhalations have been held no sooner than 1-1.5 hours after meals or physical activity; before the procedure a patient has rinsed his/her mouth and throat with boiled water of room temperature. Laferobion has been used as part of complex therapy along with the standard basic treatment. The basic treatment has included such medicines as citramon, ambroxol, sulfacetamide, naphthizin, diazolin, septiphril, bromhexin and rinsing one’s throat with warm furazilin solution. The outcomes of the treatment have demonstrated a high clinical efficacy of the therapeutic approach. The dynamics of changes in the number of the immunity reponsible cells, immunohematological indices and coefficients, presence of intoxication, elevation of immunoglobulin concentration of the basic classes and the decrease of interferon-α are indicators of the formation of the different forms of immune response, while the increase of the index of immune resistance by 18% confirms the formation of the immune response to paragrippal infection.

Изучены результаты комплексной терапии с включением лаферобиона (по 1 млн. единиц в течение 3 дней) у 30 больных парагриппом мужского пола в возрасте от 19 до 24 лет, у которых клинический диагноз подтвержден иммунологическим методом в парных сыворотках. Для лечения парагриппа нами использован интерферон-α (ИФН-α) – лаферобион, который вводили ингаляционно в дозе 1 млн МЕ с помощью компрессорного распылителя «Бореал» фирмы “Flaеm Nuova” (Италия) по одному сеансу в день, в течение трех дней. Ингаляции проводили не раньше, чем через 1-1,5 часа после еды или физической нагрузки. Перед процедурой больной полоскал рот и глотку кипяченой водой комнатной температуры. Лаферобион применили в комплексной терапии на фоне стандартного базового лечения. Базовая терапия включала цитрамон, амброксол, альбуцид, нафтизин, диазолин, септифрил, бромгексин и полоскание горла теплым раствором фурациллина. Результаты лечения продемонстрировали высокую клиническую эффективность терапевтической тактики. Динамика изменений количества иммунокомпетентных клеток, иммуногематологических индексов и коэффициентов, наличие интоксикации, повышение концентрации иммуноглобулинов основных классов и уменьшение интерферона-α свидетельствуют о формировании разных форм иммунного ответа, а увеличение индекса иммунной резистентности на 18% подтверждает формирование иммунного ответа на парагриппозную инфекцию.
