Abstract:
The present research includes the evaluation of the morbidity of acute viral hepatitis in the district of Orhei in the period of 1993-2012. The tendency of the VHA and VHB morbidity decrease has been shown as well as the slow reduction of the VHC and VHD morbidity in the course of the last
20 years. The annual statistical reports on infectious and parasitic diseases in the district of Orhei for the period of 20 years (1993-2012) and investigation reports on epidemiological welfare of the cases of viral hepatitis have been studied. A retrospective epidemiological analysis of the morbidity
due to acute viral hepatitis has been conducted; the methods of calculation, statistical and document analysis have been used. The actions of specific
and non-specific prevention applied in the recent years have made a substantial contribution to reducing the incidence of adolescents and the elderly
with acute viral hepatitis on the territory of the district of Orhei. The continuity in the realization of preventive measures, which are foreseen in the
new National Programme for fighting the viral hepatitis B, C and D for 2012-2016 will contribute to the further improvement of the epidemiological
situation associated with the viral hepatitis B, C and D both at the territorial and at the national level.
