Abstract:
Summary. Urinary stone disease is the main cause of obstructive anuria. Being a diagnosis and treatment emergency it requires a strict protocol having the aim to minimize kidney damage. During 1994 and 2009 years, we studied a group of 190 patients with obstructive anuria due to solitary kidney stone disease. The aim of this study was to evaluate the diagnostic and treatment features of patients with obstructive anuria due to solitary kidney stone disease. Our results show that mechanical obstruction is the pathogenetic factor, so ureteral catheterization is a first therapeutic procedure. Differential application of ureteral catheterization, percutaneous nephrostomy and hemodialysis in patients with obstructive anuria due to solitary kidney stone disease, allows us to make radical interventions in more favorable conditions, which significantly improves therapeutic results.
