Abstract:
Summary. The optimum surgical correction of ureteropelvic junction obstruction (UPJO) has been a urological challenge for over a century. Open pyeloplasty remains the standard against which new technique must be compared. The purpose of this study was to analyze treatment results of UPJO in adults depending on the type of pyeloplasty. Between 2005 and 2009 a total of 30 open pyeloplasty were done. Main cause of UPJO was stenosis of ureteropelvic junction or presence of an aberrant vessel. Hynes-Anderson technique was done in 56,5%. Mean operative time for all techniques was 86,5 minutes. There were no significant perioperative or postoperative complications. The postoperative hospital stay was mean 16,4 days, ranging for different techniques between 14 and 21.
