Abstract:
Summary. It is about 50 years after the first acute hemodialysis was performed in the Republic of Moldova by prof. S. Goligorschi, Dr. A. Tetradov şi Dr. M. Chiroşca (4.11.1962) and more than 30 years after the creation of the dialysis and kidney transplantation center as a separate service (01.01.1981). During these years in the Republic of Moldova were opened 7 dialysis departments with 72 „artificial kidney” machines, yearly used for chronic dialysis in more than 400 patients and acute dialysis in circa 50 patients. Although, there are approximately 50,000 of dialysis sessions performed yearly in the whole Republic, one can await an important increase in dialysed patients’ population, which is determined both by real need in this service and by existing trends in the field.
