Abstract

Summary. Chronic glomerulonephritis, tubulointerstitial nephropathies and hereditary pathology remain main causes of the end stage renal disease, but their prevalence has decreased from 90% till 75% during the last decade. Dialysis and kidney Transplantation Center activities have shown the continuous increase of the number of patients on chronic dialysis as well as of the number of yearly performed dialysis sessions with simultaneous patients’ mortality reduction and increased patients survival. The mean volume of work carried out by medical personal has increased in 4 times during the last 15 years. Taking everything into consideration, the smooth work of the section is provided by hardworking, highly qualified and specially trained medical personnel.
