Abstract:
Summary. Calcium and phosphorus metabolism is thoroughly affected in terminal chronic kidney failure and significantly affects osteoblastic and osteoclastic processes, forms calcinates in viscera, promotes atherosclerosis, contributes to the arterial media sclerosis and calcium deposition in soft tissues. Microscopically one determines a systemic affection with multiple calcinates, adjacent tissue fibrosis as well as more specific manifestations such as Monkenberg sclerosis.
