Cunoștințele cetățenilor/rezidenților Republicii Moldova despre riscul expunerii la radon

Abstract

Rezumat În acest articol sunt prezentate rezultatele chestionării populației Republicii Moldova referitor la cunoașterea radonului, a riscului expunerii la radon și a consecințelor pentru sănătate. Rezultatele cercetării denotă că publicul larg nu are cunoștințe suficiente cu privire la riscul pentru sănătate asociat expunerii la radon. Totodată, mai mult de 50% din respondenți știau că radonul este un gaz incolor, fără miros și reprezintă o substanță radioactivă. Este foarte important faptul că majoritatea respondenților au aflat despre riscul pentru sănătate cauzat de radon de la specialiștii din domeniul sănătății publice, precum și prin intermediul site-ului web al serviciului de sănătate publică și al mass-mediei. Aproximativ 10% dintre intervievați nu cunoșteau nimic despre radon și despre pericolul pe care îl prezintă.

Summary The paper presents the results of the survey of the population of the Republic of Moldova regarding the knowledge of radon, the risk of radon exposure and the consequences for health. The results of the research show that the general public has insufficient knowledge about the health risk associated with radon exposure. At the same time, more than 50% of respondents knew that radon is a colorless, odorless gas and a radioactive substance. It is very important that most respondents have heard about the health risk caused by radon from public health professionals, as well as through the website of the Public Health Service and the media. About 10% of respondents knew nothing about radon and the danger it posed.

Резюме В статье представлены результаты опроса населения Республики Молдова о знаниях радона, риске воздействия радона и его последствиях для здоровья. Результаты исследования показывают, что широкая общественность недостаточно осведомлена о риске для здоровья, связанном с воздействием радона. В то же время более 50% респондентов знали, что радон является бесцветным газом без запаха и радиоактивным веществом. Очень важно, что большинство респондентов слышали о риске для здоровья, вызванном радоном, от специалистов в области общественного здравоохранения, а также через веб-сайт cлужбы общественного здравоохранения и средств массовой информации. Около 10% респондентов ничего не знали о радоне и его опасности.
