Background. Odontogenic cysts of the jaws are one of the most common pathological diseases in
children and are classified according to the WHO (1977) as a tumor-like lesion. In the literature we did
not find data on the spread of odontogenic cysts of the jaws in children from the Rep. of Moldova.
Objective of the study. Comparison of data obtained personally during 1989-1996 with data for 2018-
2021. The children were undergoing inpatient treatment in the maxillofacial surgery department of the
IMSP Children's Clinical Hospital "E. Cotsaga". Material and Methods. Clinical observations on 119
children with odontogenic cysts of the jaws served as material for this work. The children were
undergoing inpatient treatment during the years 1989-1996 and 85 children were hospitalized during the
years 2018-2021. Results. In the diagnosis of odontogenic cysts of the jaws, traditional research methods
were used: examination, palpation, radiography, puncture of the cyst cavity. For the diagnosis of
medium and large cysts we used the ultrasonic research method. Computed tomography should be used
in those cases, when the cyst is located in complicated anatomical regions and a clear radiographic image
cannot be obtained, in situations where the interrelation with the causal tooth or suspicion in the
existence of other neoformations cannot be established. Conclusion. In the districts with high
indications of spread of cysts of the jaws during the rehabilitation of the oral cavity to draw attention to
the teeth IV and V. In the practice of the dentist to use the methods of ultrasound research and computed
tomography.
Introducere. Chisturile odontogene ale maxilarelor sunt una din cele mai răspândite afecțiuni patologice la copii și se clasifică după OMS (1977) ca leziune similară tumorilor. În literatură nu am întâlnit date despre răspândirea chisturilor odontogene ale maxilarelor la copiii din Republica Moldova. Scopul lucrării. Compararea datelor obținute personal, în perioada anilor 1989-1996, cu datele anilor 2018-2021. Copii s-au aflat sub tratament în staționar, în secția de chirurgie maxilo-facială a IMSP Spitalul Clinic pentru Copii „E. Coțaga”. Material și Metode. Ca material pentru această lucrare au servit observațiile clinice la 119 copii, cu chisturi odontogene ale maxilarelor. Copiii s-au aflat sub tratament
în staționar, în perioada anilor 1989-1996 și 85 copii spitalizați în perioada anilor 2018-2021. Rezultate. În diagnosticul chisturilor odontogene ale maxilarelor s-au folosit metode tradiționale de cercetare: examinarea, palpația, radiografia, puncția cavității chistului. Pentru diagnosticul chisturilor de demensiuni medii și mari, noi am utilizat metoda ultrasonoră de cercetare. Tomografia computerizată trebuie folosită în acele cazuri, când chistul este localizat în regiuni anatomice complicate și nu se poate obține o imagine radiografică clară, în situații când nu se poate stabili interrelația cu dintele cauzal sau
se suspectă existența altor neoformațiuni. Concluzii. În raioanele cu indicii înalți de răspândire a chisturilor maxilarelor, în timpul asanării cavității bucale de atras atenția asupra dinților IV și V. În practica medicului stomatolog de a folosi metodele de cercetare ultrasonoră și tomografia computerizată.
