Abstract:
The article identifies some conceptual and hermeneutical milestones of the
post-communist transition paradigm. It is demonstrated that the approaches of democracy are quite different in form and content, and the democratic practice of contemporary societies varies from one country to another. It
is concluded that the transition from the totalitarian political system to the
democratic political system is just the beginning of the construction of a democracy (the first phase of democratization – unfulfilled democracy), where
the rules of the game are not clearly defined, but democracy necessarily requires it to be assured, (the second phase of democratization – strengthened
democracy).
