Abstract

Anesthesia is one of the unique clinical branches in medicine,that has its own issues of ethics either inside or out of the operating room.Historically, anesthesiologists have played pivotal roles in medical ethics by developing and applying technology that posed ethical dilemmas, and by their leadership in answering ethical questions and posing new ones.Knowledge of the ethical and professional standards in patient care and research is essential in the specialty of anesthesiology, which is more than the mere provision of a technical service on demand.
