Abstract:
The article examines some issues regarding the establishment, functionality and sustainability of the twelfth coalition government in the recent political history of the Republic of Moldova. The paper emphasizes that the governing coalition between the Socialist Party and the Democratic Party operates on the basis of an assumed and judicious political arrangement, based on political reason and substantial procedural consensus. It is concluded that all governing alliances in the Republic of Moldova, including the “Social Democratic Platform for Moldova” coalition, operating on the basis of institutional cohabitation, cannot fully achieve their planned objectives due to the prevalence of petty group interests over the general interests of Moldova society.
