Considerații privind spațiul cultural European: valori universale, particularități specifice și interese comune

Abstract

This article treats issues related to the European cultural space through universal values, specific features and common interests. The author argues that for European culture at the contemporary stage such characteristics are characteristic such as: individualism, passion for knowledge, existence of pluralities of ideas, flexibility, heightened pragmatism, sense of organization and coordination of intellectual and artistic efforts, intense concern for education and research. In conclusion, it is noted that the European cultural space is a cultural construct that has been formed over time, a true mosaic of legends, images and representations that have led to the birth of an ever-living and ever-changing spirit of European culture. It represents a space of fruitful confrontations between the codes of several cultures. European cultural pluralism includes diversity and promotes the dialogue of cultures which, beyond their differences, contribute to enriching the human experience and shaping European identity.
