Aspecte bioetice și clinice ale morții cerebrale

Abstract

Brain death is established in the context in which brain damage is so severe that it leads to the definitive and irreversible cessation of all brain functions. The validity of the concept of brain death, the bioethical and clinical aspects, which it raised not only remain non-static, but also increased in intensity. The current study concludes that (1) contemporary neuroscientific findings seem to challenge the validity of determining brain death by neurological criteria, (2) the concept and determination of brain death continued to grow philosophical and religious controversy, (3) the determination of brain death according to neurological criteria must meet in itself, transparency, trust, moral and bioethical integrity, as well as true scientific criteria.
