Abstract:
The paper demonstrates that the digitalization of biobanking, in the
context of a solid legislative and ethical framework, not only makes
services more efficient, but also creates the premises for scientific collaborations and sustainable development in the Republic of Moldova. The technological transfer (24.80015.8007.02TT) of the software „Register of
informational evidence of biospecimens within the Biobank”, developed
in accordance with international standards and implemented in the
Biobank of the State Medical University „Nicolae Testimițanu”, adjusted
to the biobanking needs of the co-financing institutions, Oncological
Institute and LLC „ALFA Diagnostica”, serves as an innovative model
in the development of the biobanking service in the Republic of Moldova
and creates premises for the foundation of the unique system, in the
country, for managing data associated with biobanking, a system corresponding to international standards. The results confirm the software’s
ability to meet the objectives: operational, clinical and ethical growth.
Interoperability and interoperability with European networks position
the Republic of Moldova as an emerging center in biobanking, and the
involvement of ethics in all phases (collection, storage, use) strengthens
transparency and accountability in research.
