Abstract:
Chronic hypoxia causes significant disturbances in cerebral metabolism,
leading to oxidative stress, neuronal damage, and impaired
consciousness. These effects justify the need for early intervention that
is both medically and ethically integrated. At the same time, the brain’s adaptive mechanisms offer new directions for research. From a bioethical
perspective, applying the principles of autonomy and justice in diagnosis
and treatment remains essential to respecting the patient’s dignity.
