Abstract:
Mental health in the elderly is an increasingly important issue in
today’s medical and ethical discourse. Aging is not merely a biological
phenomenon, but a complex psychosocial and existential process that
involves challenges to identity, autonomy, and quality of life. From a
bioethical standpoint, ensuring the mental health of geriatric patients
means defending their dignity, respecting their autonomy, and ensuring
equitable access to psychological and psychiatric care.
