Abstract:
Different mathematical models on epidemiology of syphilis and other sexual transmitted infections (STI) within the framework of the general mathematical modelling of epidemics are described. Mathematic models facilitate the improvement of the methods for analysis of a STI epidemic situation, the management of public health system in syphilis control, better understanding of the mechanisms of the disease reproduction, scientifically based prognosing of the syphilis morbidity and of the effects of different public health actions and evaluation of the effectiveness of public health system activity in control of syphilis and other STIs.
