dc.description.abstract Tuberculosis is one of the major infections affecting children worldwide. It causes significant morbidity and mortality, especially in infants and young children. Diagnosis of tuberculosis in children is difficult and poses problems that are not present in adults. Children with tuberculosis respond well to and tolerate the same basic treatment regimens as used for adults. The best method to prevent cases of pediatric tuberculosis is to find, diagnose, and treat cases of active tuberculosis among adults. With BCG vaccination in neonatal period (even in infancy) can undoubtedly reduce serious forms of tuberculosis. en_US
