Abstract:
Diabetes mellitus is one of the most widespread health problems affecting about 160 million people in the world. About 10% of diabetic patients have type 1 diabetes mellitus. Mandatory insulin treatment, being a complex issue, involves a number of unsolved issues in social, organizational and educational areas, especially related to self-management and life quality of these patients, which arguments the need of research in the area of patients’ preferences regarding distribution of insulin preparations, and their training in self-management of type 1 diabetes.
