Abstract:
The aim was to examine the effect of polymorphism of the endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) gene, located in the 4a/4b VNTR (variable number of tandem repeats) minisatelit marker of eNOS in patients with acute coronary syndrome. The career of the intron- 4a/4b and 4b/4b polymorphism of the eNOS gene was associated with atherosclerotic coronary lesion and increased risk of myocardial infarction. Larger studies are needed to understand the importance of eNOS gen in the coronary heart disease.
