Abstract:
Summary. Cystic volume and especially surface are the most important ultrasound indices of the simple renal cyst. Cyst’s progression is confirmed by the existence of statistically significant correlations between patient’s age and the cyst dimensions. There has been determined no correlation between the cysts dimensions and chronic kidney disease stage as well as with the complications of the latter. Statistical analysis showed the correlation between arterial pressure and the cystic surface from 60 cm2 till 130 cm2, which corresponds to the cystic diameter from 4,3 till 6,4 cm. These dimensions are recommended as reference values for the surgical intervention decision making.
