Introduction. Inflammatory reactions in the dental pulp occur when pathogenic microorganisms in the
decayed dentin reach the dental pulp. The invasion of microorganisms triggers pulp inflammation, which
can vary in pain, extent and intensity. Vital pulp extirpation carried out under local anesthesia is performed
in one visit and entails the complete removal of the coronal and radicular pulp after desensitizing it with
anesthetic substances.
Aim of study. To determine the effectiveness of the endodontic treatment of the dental pulp by the method
of vital pulp extirpation.
Methods and materials. 10 patients aged 35-45 years, with signs and symptoms of acute pulpitis were
examined clinically and paraclinically. In association with the complex clinical examination, the method
of vital pulp extirpation was applied under anesthesia in a single visit, which is an effective and qualitative
method of treatment.
Results. The study revealed the benefits of the dental pulp treatment in a single visit under anesthesia, vital
pulp extirpation being used for endodontic treatment of pulp inflammation.
Conclusion. Pulp treatment in one visit, using the surgical method of vital pulp extirpation under local
anesthesia is an effective and qualitative complex therapeutic solution of endodontic treatment and
restoration of the morpho-functional integrity of the tooth on the dental arch for a long time. The treatment
is widely accessible and applicable among patients. Keywords: Acute pulpitis, endodontic system, dental
crown lesion.
